Course Details

KPMG Executive Education is pleased to offer this virtual training on ESG reporting, updated to reflect the recent final rule on climate-related disclosures from the SEC. Please note that registration is also open for our In-person Seminar. Join us to enhance your ESG reporting capabilities and stay ahead in meeting the increasingly complex global, national, and local intersection of reporting requirements, including the SEC Climate Rule.

As companies face increasing responsibility for performance and disclosure on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, it is crucial for finance and accounting teams to meet reporting demands and demonstrate they have a clear sustainability strategy. In this eight-hour course, you will examine the ESG landscape and the strategic drivers to develop and manage your ESG reporting strategy.

Through examples, leading practices and valuable resources, you will learn the key considerations for conducting a maturity and materiality assessment and in collecting and managing ESG data as you develop your reporting strategy. You will gain insights into the advantages of sustainable supply chains and learn about regulatory disclosure requirements, including the latest developments from the SEC on climate-related disclosures. Lastly, you will determine the inputs to develop an ESG reporting roadmap and understand the role of Finance and Accounting teams in embedding ESG strategy.

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Leverage ESG as a framework to integrate environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities into your company’s strategy
  • Determine where you are on an ESG program maturity scale
  • Define the concept of materiality related to ESG performance and disclosure
  • Recognize the importance of ESG data collection and management
  • Explain the relevance of ESG issues, risks, and opportunities within supply chains
  • Examine the global and U.S. regulatory developments and frameworks
