IFRS

For companies subject to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and U.S. GAAP requirements, accounting can be doubly complex given critical differences between the two frameworks.

Financial reporting professionals face a variety of challenges as they prepare statements in compliance with IFRS and even more when adopting IFRS. Non-accounting areas – such as systems, processes and controls – can present additional hurdles.

KPMG Executive Education, through its extensive IFRS portfolio, provides in-depth, practical knowledge that can equip financial reporting professionals to make their financial statements coherent and consistent across different industries and countries.

Courses are designed for financial executives of U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies, U.S. companies accessing foreign capital markets or with international investors, and any other company reporting under IFRS.

IFRS Practical Application and Comparison to US GAAP is a two-day course (16 CPE) taught by KPMG thought leaders that focuses on important differences between FASB and IASB pronouncements and the information needed to make appropriate adjustments for those differences in the financial statements. Recent IFRS standards for revenue recognition, financial instruments and leases are also covered, and each is compared with the related U.S. GAAP requirements.

Public In-Person Seminars cover the most relevant and trending topics to help accounting and financial reporting professionals avert skill gaps and thrive. The interactive format allows for a candid exchange of ideas, completion of interactive case studies and exercises, and real time instructor feedback. Our public seminars can also be offered in-house for your company.

Our virtual seminar (16 hours over 4 days) is an equivalent of our in-person seminar and focuses on important differences between FASB and IASB pronouncements and the information needed to make appropriate adjustments for those differences in the financial statements. Recent IFRS standards for revenue recognition, financial instruments and leases are also covered, and each is compared with the related U.S. GAAP requirements. The course is delivered in one-hour modules with breaks and interactivity.

Live Virtual Seminars offer real-time, interactive learning led by industry professionals in an online environment. Our small-class setting includes live video and the opportunity to interact directly with the instructor. Attend live classes from anywhere, and receive the same industry-respected content as our corresponding in-person seminars.

Our interactive self-studies provide an introduction to almost all the IFRS and IAS standards, along with comparisons to U.S. GAAP. Mid-year and year-end updates are also available. All courses are CPE-eligible and mobile-compatible. Need to learn a lot of IFRS topics? Consider a subscription – access to all of our digital self-studies for one year.

Digital Self-Studies are developed by KPMG subject-matter professionals and/or leading practitioners from academia and business, with new courses added to the catalog regularly. Self-study CPE credits are awarded immediately upon completion of the course, and all certificates of completion are stored within your KPMG Executive Education profile for easy access. Digital self-studies are available for individual purchase, via subscription or as part of a Custom Learning Portal.
